Nightride!
Night riding at Aonach Mor on Nevis Range's 10 Under The Ben track initially, and then on Blue Adder XC descent.
Watch the head lamp tracking the trail ahead of the bar mounted lamp in the second half.
Dumyat
Sitting at the Western End of the Ochil hills, Dumyat is, at just over 400m, a great introduction to mountain biking, with all the features of a mountain, in a neat package. A huge variety of terrain, some technical rocky sections, scree, bogs, forest, and fast grassy sections and furious single track it really does provide a great ride.
A Classic Highland Epic ride, either a 80km circuit, or as here a 60 odd Km ride with a train to get back. On a superb day in the spring, these are the highlights of the 7 hour ride crossing rivers, traversing narrow singletrack and razzing down estate tracks. The mountains and the remoteness make this a proper mountain bike adventure, and this film captures the ride on a day that was second to none.
Fitting really in the "films to shake your head at" category, this is the highlights of the 2015 Bluegrass Glen Coe Enduro. Explained as 'real mountain biking - go up a mountain, ride back down it with no paths' it also included sections of the Red Glen Coe Downhill course, and of course big sections of snow. Was this bonkers enough? - nope - it also finished with a mass start on the snow to determine the overall winner - See it all from the point of view of a back end 'fun' racer.
Semi-informative, this film from the 2014 Pass'portes Du Soleil event demonstrates the distances, variety of scenery, varied terrain, and sheer extended bonkersness of this biking 'festival' marking the summer opening of the Porte du Soleil area of the French and Swiss alps. Beware though; if you have any latent wish to go to the Alps 'just once - for the experience' this may well leave you with few excuses not to.
This film is in the RWR Youtube channel alongside other films of riding in the Haute Savoie Region and will also be accompanied by an article of advice on hitting the alps for the first time.
